Green Sanctuary Committee Meeting
Any and all are welcome to join the regulars at our next Zoom meeting Friday, May 21 at 2:00 PM. We will be discussing all things environmental as they relate to our church campus and engaging congregants in sustainable practices that reflect our commitment to our 7th Principle.
Topics we’ve been discussing lately include: divesting fossil-fuel stocks in the church’s Endowment Fund stock portfolio, support of the UU Ministry for the Earth, our participation in Tallahassee’s Green Faith Alliance, our Food for Thought discussion group, GS Meridian article submissions, maintanence of our solar panels, ridding our campus of invasive plants, our involvement with the Macon Community Garden and our current ongoing Drawdown Ecochallenge that will end June 30th.
Hope to see you there. The Green Sanctuary Committee meets every month on the third Friday. For more information or Zoom invite contact Ed Oaksford at email@example.com

Special Newcomer/Guest Break-out Room Every Sunday After the Service
Newcomers and other guests, whether you have attended one virtual service or many, please join us in a special break-out room any Sunday during the social time following the service. You are welcome to participate in this break-out room more than once. It will be an opportunity for you to get to know us and us to get to know you. You can also share about what brought you to UUCT and ask questions you might have. And if you would rather just participate in one of the general break-out rooms during social time, you are always invited to do so. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the break-out room or about the church, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
– The Welcome Team (Trudy Deyle, Sally Andersen and others)
You are welcome to join us every Sunday from 3 PM to 4 PM on Zoom. We are a community of meditators who come together for a chance to center ourselves with calm and focus. Each week a member of the group leads the meditation, drawing from a variety of Buddhist thought. Our usual practice starts with a guided meditation or a passage reading while seated, followed by a walking meditation, then finishing with a silent meditation. At the conclusion, we share our experiences with each other.
Whether you are new or seasoned to the practice of meditation, all are welcome. Please email Ardenkelly@yahoo.com for the Zoom link invitation to be sent to you every Saturday.
Arden Kelly is a Director & Teaching Artist Acting/Voice & Speech/Voiceover/Singer pursuing a Masters in London

Centering BIPOC Voices: June and July Discussions
By Robin Gray
The book discussion group Centering BIPOC Voices will devote the June meeting to sharing thoughts about the last four parts of The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee by David Treuer. We’ll meet via Zoom at 3:30 PM on June 12, the second Saturday of the month.
Looking ahead to July, the Centering BIPOC Voices group has selected The Mountains Sing by Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai. An NPR review offers this summary: “In The Mountains Sing, Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai has created a luminous, complex family narrative that spans nearly a century of Vietnamese history, from the French colonial period through the communist Viet Minh’s rise to power, the separation between North and South Vietnam, the Vietnam War, all the way to the present day. Told alternately by Diệu Lan, born in 1920, and her granddaughter Hương, born in 1960, the novel resembles a choral performance with multiple voices.”
To join the discussion in June or July, contact Robin Gray (firstname.lastname@example.org) to receive additional information and the Zoom link.
